Developing Leadership

“Small group work can promote student interaction and friendships,

help students develop leadership skills, and foster diversity”

 - Bean, Chapter 10 in Engaging Ideas

Our classroom is a safe space where students can explore their roles through group work. ENC 1101 is a process of exploration and revision - students may think writing is difficult, be intimidated to speak in class, or feel like they are not team leaders. The truth is that writing is hard! We all feel intimidated sometimes! And there are no born leaders! Together we will explore leadership roles and develop an understanding of all the various roles that are integral to successful group work.

A leader is only as strong as their team! Leadership takes courage, experimentation and cooperation.
